Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. - 2 Cor 9:6-7 (NIV)
I am guessing one of the first words I ever learned was "mine", and it is still one of my favorite words. It can be difficult for us to move past our selfishness. At New Covenant we believe that God created us to be people who
give, serve, share and love. We find that our offering is a spiritual
practice that both reflects our spiritual growth and deepens our
spiritual life. God invites us to give out of the first-fruits (or the
first part, not the leftovers) with joy because God has given us so
much.
We also believe in giving as a church. In 2008 we will give more than $20,000 to a variety of work throughout the world as well as in St. Louis.
